Lena Brubacher Receives 2024 Huntsville Community Choir Vocal Award

Lena Brubacher, a recent graduate from Huntsville High School, has been honoured with the 2024 Huntsville Community Choir Vocal Award. This recognition is a testament to her exceptional vocal talent and dedication to her craft. Lena is eagerly anticipating the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for her this fall.

Expressing her gratitude, Lena conveyed the immense significance of this award to her. She acknowledged her efforts to step out of her comfort zone and perform at various venues, including her church, youth group, school choir, and jazz class. Lena regards this accolade as a remarkable milestone in her journey towards building self-confidence and improving her performance abilities. However, she remains humble and acknowledges that there is still room for further growth and development. Lena is immensely grateful for the opportunities that singing has afforded her, particularly in overcoming her intense stage fright.

Lena was on the Honour Roll, an Ontario Scholar, and recipient of the Greg Munce Award for Literary Excellence, showcasing her multifaceted talents. While Lena has yet to solidify her university plans, she has an exciting summer ahead as she embarks on a journey through Sweden and Europe.

The Huntsville Community Choir Vocal Award is bestowed upon a graduating senior who has displayed exceptional vocal excellence. The selection process, carried out by members of the Huntsville High School music department, involves careful consideration of candidates, culminating in the Choir's final decision. This award has been annually bestowed upon talented graduates since 2017, highlighting its prestige and the caliber of its recipients.
